During that time CAI have played an important role in several major
accounts, particularly IKEA, H3G and
MEPC. CAI

seamless integration with our UK teams to deliver many projects for these
important clients successfully. They implemented a range of

preparation of trade packages, analysis and production of fire strategy

April 2004 Chartered Architects International As
a UK registered architect, I have worked with the team in Singapore from
my office near Vancouver over the past two years on a variety of projects,
either directly with me or in a liaison role with the Stubbs
Rich Architects
staff
in the Bath and London offices. Projects
have included a wide variety of building types, including research
laboratories and offices for MEPC
at Milton Park and a number of IKEA
stores.
This method of service has been successful.
Remote working has required initial effort and a short learning
curve for any staff leading a project.
Once mastered however, working ‘around the world – around the
clock’ has enabled drawings and documentation to be produced very
efficiently and otherwise impossible deadlines met; thus relieving the
burden on the UK staff and resources. The
staff in Singapore forms a well organized competent team, eager to provide
a good service and hungry for further work.
They have spent a great deal of time familiarizing themselves with
UK regulations and products, which is typical of their resourceful nature
and desire to constantly improve their service.
They are also amiable and a pleasure to work with. As
the peaks and troughs of architectural workload seem to become ever
greater, with tighter fees and more urgent deadlines, I am sure remote
working can provide you with a valuable tool for your resourcing
requirements. Not only can it
